A Couple Blues

Do you find that your partner and you seem to be having more arguments and disagreements lately? Well you are not alone, this time of year is a difficult time for everyone. Couples are less likely to travel outside of their home during the winter and money seems to be a little less with the holiday statements beginning to appear. The concern of many couples is falling into a depression, losing interest with one another and a general overall feeling of emptiness. This article will suggests some ideas that will hopefully bring you and your partner closer during the so called blues.

First, try to identify what is bothering you and why now. By identifying the problem it will guide you in a thought process that will make it easier to talk to your partner.

With your partner determine what needs to change within yourself and each other; this is easier said than done. Feelings come into play here and by human nature no one wants to accept blame for troublesome times. The key here is to turn the negativity into a positive tone of what is needed. Point out each other’s good qualities and accomplishments, by doing this, it reduces anxiety and helps to relax one another.

Together, discuss options that are available; such as taking walks (winter can be a time where weight increase is seen due to less activity and boredom), exercise can stimulate your body and mind; eating better and healthy. Stay away from items that can make you depressed, such as fatty foods and high caloric beverages.

Train your mind to self reflect on the positives in each other’s lives; focus on what you mean to each other and engage in spontaneity. Grab some old photos or albums and take a walk down memory lane where you can ecap those loving feelings and memories. Another idea is to watch a movie that can spark your desire for one another or listen to some music and dance to your favorite song.

Finally, realize that by engaging with one another during this time you are showing how committed you both are; communicate, trust and love are the three words to work on each day to help cure those blues. Good Luck!!!
