Life Changes After Marriage.

A question that many couples ask is “what changes will happen after marriage”? A fair question to ask because there will be changes in your lives as a married couple; even if you have lived together changes will still happen. This article will explore changes that do occur in a marriage and how to manage those changes.

The first change would be your identification. New name, new address means new identification; example-driver’s license and social security; however, remember as a married spouse your last name does not have to change.

The next change will be adapting to each other’s life style such as TV time, bed time and bathroom time. As simple as this sounds, it can cause chaos if not managed well. Once married you will not have the luxury of being alone; you and your mate will share each other’s mood, space and temperament. The art of compromising will become very important as you both learn how to navigate the first few months.

When married, as a couple, you both will contribute to the finances. Together, it would be wise to establish a budget that meets your needs; develop goals during the first year and work together to achieve them.

When dating you will remember that the intimacy that you shared together was often and intense; after marriage long days, stressful situations and lack of communication will lessen your desire and decrease the frequency; it doesn’t mean the love for each other is less it only means that your priorities have changed.

Finally, being married can be so wonderful; you and your partner will experience many firsts and will learn to overcome many obstacles together and grow both emotionally and intellectually. So as life changes after marriage, be excited to grasp this change; remember life is like a puzzle: it needs two people who are focused in love and can problem solve.
