A Plan

Notes From Dad

Whether you have been together for one week or seventy-five years there is always a plan; a plan for a relationship takes thought and work. This article takes a look at some simple yet clever ideas that will make your relationship stronger than ever.

One of the most romantic days of the year has just passed us by (Valentine’s Day), and it's funny how many people tend to show less affection and treat their partners with limited love and less caring; this may happen because “A plan” does not exist in their mind.

A successful relationship is like a good recipe, you carefully take your time and a wonderful result will happen. The first and most important ingredient is to follow directions (for some of us that may be difficult); by this I mean learn what your partner likes and dislikes; remember what excites them and avoid things that cause stress and anxiety. When things are said that are important, store them in your memory bank, or better yet, write it down, and when the time comes, incorporate those feelings into a plan.

The next idea is to role play with your partner. You be them and they be you; see how you each see one another and try ways to improve each other’s lives. The purpose of role modeling is to observe one’s behavior and how they respond, either through their actions or words. When making a plan, always remember the purpose; A plan is to help pave a way that states clear objectives and goals that will provide a successful and happy future.

Finally, think ahead; because really, for a plan to work it takes thought and clarity; as much as being spontaneous is fun it really does not anchor your lives; so remember the purpose, work together and make sure the plan matches what you both want out of life.

Good Luck !!
