There are times you may have heard the expression they were made for one another; yet it really takes work and a sincere effort for a couple to relate to one another not only in the early stages but as you journey through life as partners. There are some main targets to focus on that will assist both of you in determining your relationship.

Communication, always a target for a relationship to develop, however, There are several types of communication; visual and non-verbal which means using photos, gestures and body language to speak and verbal, which is direct but may often causes Misunderstandings. One important aspect of communication is always look at someone, eye to eye, if you are verbally communication; this can promote trust and honesty. Tone of voice is important when communicating because it sets the type of atmosphere you wish to have with your partner.

Planning a future together may sound easy but there are a lot of decisions to be made. First, how will financial concerns be handled; will both of you work; set aside time for both of you to sit down and review expenses and savings. Together, decide what are your needs then, if there is extra savings, your wants ( this may not happen for quite a while ). This is a good time to build a budget and create realistic goals for your future. One thing I feel couples forget to do is set up an emergency fund. Each month put aside for that emergency and if not needed use that saved money on each other, via trip or retirement.

Respect one another’s perimeter. There will be times your partner may wish to have some alone time or just not in a playful mood, by giving your partner the space they need shows respect and character. Giving space to your partner can diffuse many potential disagreements and Arguments.

Finally, shower your partner with love and affection. In previous articles I mentioned leaving notes to begin their day; for example an “I love you” note in their coat or “ have a wonderful day” in their lunch bag. Showing affection does not have to be expensive, but what you do could feel like a million dollars to your partner. Let your significant other know you will be there when needed, that you will have their back. The love you show towards one another will certainly secure a strong and powerful relationship and empower each other toward a happy future together.
