Desires From Within

Notes From Dad

Desires, according to Oxford Language, are described as having strong feelings for someone or something else. As you age you tend to develop certain feelings that may navigate your life and create a balance between you and your partner. In a relationship there is a difference between the feeling of love and desire; love may bring you and your partner closer while desire fulfills your needs. There are more than a dozen different desires in your life, today, we will be discussing four important ones that could be the most meaningful to your relationship needs.

The first desire that will shape your relationship is how you and your partner are accepted by family and friends. Partners need to understand that family and friends were there before you and accepting their family and friends may lead to a stronger relationship.

The second desire that is important is the value of your independence. When you declare you are independent, what you are saying is you have the knowledge to care for yourself; you have the ability to create a wall of security around you, which in turn, empowers you to lead a more positive life and a true sense of satisfaction.

The third desire is establishing goals, not just any goals, but goals that will define the two of you. Some common goals are; owning a home, having a loving family and/or having a successful career. Goals motivate and help you and your partner develop a plan for the future. When you and your partner achieve goals you are both making your lives more of a reality and less of a dream.

Finally, the last desire within could be your honesty. To be honest is a trait that is so necessary between a couple. Both of you need to develop a trust in what you say and how you behave. Honesty has many different facets, one of the most important is telling the truth; so remember that a successful relationship can only be as strong as a person’s word.

Good Luck !!
