Beating the Blues
This time of year is a difficult one for all of us. Darkness sets early, weather, depending on where you live, is less than desirable and your financial situation after the holidays is taxed. So what do couples do to enjoy their time together and make lasting memories? This article will explore some ideas and activities that will assist you in beating the winter blues.
Chose a night where the two of you sit down and have fun playing a game; it could be a word game, a puzzle or even an intimate game that melts the cold. Games are wonderful ice breakers because they initiate conversation and help build relationships through team building concepts.
Exercise is a wonderful partner activity; it is not necessary to join a gym. Plan to do some type of workout for thirty minutes a day to avoid weight gain and to add energy to your daily routines. Developing a routine each day help to beat the so called blues and brings partners closer to reaching common goals.
Eating right is very important to your daily diet. There may be free courses in your area that offer nutrition classes; During the winter we tend to want foods that are high in calories and fat ; we think that those extra pounds will add warmth only to work twice as hard in the Spring to shed those unwanted pounds. Taking a class that focuses on healthy meals will raise your energy and boost your metabolism, and again this activity is being done as a couple.
Lastly, get involved within your community; being social helps defer blues, concerns and nervousness. Working on someone’s elses problems may help a couple realize that their life may be better than they thought. So get involved, make new friends and beat the blues!.
