Couples Giving Thanks
Notes From Dad
Couples Giving Thanks
As we begin this week of Thanks it’s important to remember that as a couple, either of one week or 75 years, it’s time to reflect on ourselves and our partner.
Let us first look at why we look to give thanks to our partner; In life we look for ways that help us feel good; when you look at your partner there should be many reasons for giving thanks.
First, for the comfort he gives, how he understands your emotions and the patience that prevails when you need support.
Second, for the loving attention you receive; your partner puts you first and will love you for who you are not what you are.
Third, your partner offers safety and security that enables you to feel free and protected and lastly your partner will be respectful to you and your family. These are only a few examples of giving thanks to your partner.
Now, as an individual, when you close your eyes at night are you able to remember all the things you are thankful for; sometimes it’s not that easy, especially in our society today. It’s more important than ever that during these difficult times we find ways to show how grateful we are.
When you are thinking about giving thanks do you see yourself helping others; do you get that warm and positive feeling that makes you want to do a nice gesture every day. Recalling thanks helps you open your eyes to feel good about yourself. So what else may you be thankful for;
First, you are alive, and each day has another opportunity to experience happiness and love with family and friends.
Second, you may want to be thankful for having a roof to live under and food to eat that will nourish and sustain you.
Third, you may be surrounded by family, who are there for you and will not judge you when life becomes troublesome.
Finally, each of us should give thanks because it’s a way of expressing our thankfulness to not only yourself but the people you come in contact with each day.
Couples, during this time of year should be so thankful for all the reasons mentioned above; enjoy this week and be grateful for what you have.
Good Luck!!
