Do Opposite Attract.

We have heard it many times before how opposites attract; yet this idea can be debated and depending on the couple, opposite attraction is different for each. So what attraction are we looking for in a relationship? The following article will discuss some common needs and suggestions.

Friendship- this is a need that starts when you are young and continues as you grow older, however, many true friendship usually involves just the family and one or two close friends. True friendship means baring your soul and allowing one’s self total trust. In a caring relationship, your partner is essential to your- self-worth.

Interests- You enjoy chess they may enjoy golf, not exactly the same interests, yet the trick here, is to try and share a part of that interest together. Plan an evening sharing your interest by explaining why you enjoy what you are doing and encourage one another to partake in that activity. There is no rule that you both need to share the same pastime; however, it does give a relationship more togetherness.

Physical attraction- We all have a picture in our mind of the ideal mate; the thing here is that physical attraction does not wrap its arms around you when you need a hug or gives you encouragement when you go for that job interview. This does not mean physical attraction is not important, it is a basic need, just understand that this need may not be the most important aspect of your relationship.

Communication- It seems that this is the main theme in all relationships. However, communication is done via many ways, such as voice, body language and gestures. One’s tone, stance and movement can all dictate an expression, a thought or an opinion. Try to remember that in communication eye contact is extremely important and can speak volumes.

Love- Probably the nicest and most difficult attraction of all. We all enjoy that certain feeling we get when we are with our partner or planning a special time together. Being away from someone we love is a lonely and sad and makes us realize that we love that person even more. Love has many definitions but to me the most important one is; Two people sharing a life together and committed to caring for each other forever.
