Pre-Marital Jitters
It happens to all of us as that loving day gets closer the jitters begin to form. Many folks may feel that this a sign of questioning your decision to marry, however, it is certainly normal to have these feelings. The keys to helping you with these can be very simple if you use the five step plan.
1. Communicate your feelings with your partner. It is no a good idea to hold back your feelings even before you are married. Marriage is all about talking things through and if you feel you can’t talk to your partner then you may indeed be making a mistake. Don’t be afraid to deal with sensitive issues.
2. Acknowledge the fact that there are concerns you may have and address the issues. You want to begin life with each other by placing trust with one another. Be confident and honest with your feelings. Again, having jitters does not mean that the marriage may be not take place but if you are nervous or anxious these feelings need to be heard.
3. Accept the fact that all people have some type of anxiety and look to family, friends and even a counselor to help you understand what you are feeling. By forming a team of concerned individuals you are supplying support not only for yourself but your partner.
4. Recognize the sign of pre-marital jitters. It may come in many different ways; such as trouble sleeping/eating, lack of focusing, being easily upset and getting a feeling of being on edge. Once you have identified the signs try to relax by taking time for yourself. Go for a jog/walk, hit the gym and /or once again communicate with your partner.
5. Finally, remember this day is about you and your partner. Focus on what led you to this point and the love you have for each other. One key element is to relax. This moment in life is like no other, understand, by taking one step at a time you are on your way to a loving and happy union between each other. Good Luck!
