Talk to me!

Growing up in the past several decades, there has been less facial conversation and more technological relationships; texting, and other forms of social media has limited the intimacy and closeness between a couple. When we visual and physically engage with our partner we begin to truly understand who they are and what the future may hold. In a relationship, the more you know about your partner the more comfortable you may feel with them. In this article I would like to share the motivation that it may be better to have a communication face to face.

Body language and facial expressions are a form of communication; it’s called nonverbal communication. This type of communication is not seen via social media or texting. Some may see this as less threatening while others may see it as a mask to hide their true feelings. The bottom line is when we communicate face to face we are engaging one another and interacting with our emotions and feelings.

Our eyes speak volumes. When talking to your partner always try to give good eye contact. This is important because it shows your confidence and your releases a sense of trust and security.

Listening is important during a conversation, however, one nice way to show your partner that you are listening is every so often repeat what he/she may be saying. This shows your partner that their thoughts and feelings are important and you truly are engaged in meaningful conversation.

Have a positive attitude and stay away from negativity. In conversations with your partner the more positive you are the more confidence and inspiration you achieve. Remember, the more positivity the more self-esteem and less problems.

Finally, respect your partner and engage in conversations that are meaningful and thoughtful. Talking is a skill and to be skillful at it the above ideas may help.

Good Luck !!
