Valentine's Day for Couples
Notes From Dad
Valentine’s Day for Couples
In a few short weeks most couples all over the world will be celebrating the most romantic day of the year, Valentine’s Day.
One story of how Valentine’s Day began its origins, was from the Romans, way back in the third century. The story goes that two men, both named Valentine, were put to death and later became martyrs and the 14th of February was the chosen date to profess love between couples. This article will suggest some gifts and ideas to make this a memorable day for each of you.
First, let’s look at possible gifts/ideas to give one another.
A few years back, Valentine’s Day, celebrated a week before the 14th. Each day had a special significance, which led up to that special moment. The nice idea about this was little or no money needed to be spent. Each day was a gift of small but meaningful memories; such as promises, affection and flowers/chocolates and cards.
Valentine’s day does not need to be expensive. The gift of love should come from your heart not your wallet. Homemade gifts or a romantic quiet night may last forever where flowers die and jewelry may tarnish.
As I began this article I mentioned that not all couples celebrate this day; some feel that Valentine’s Day may add pressure to prove one’s love, they believe every day should be celebrated with love and respect; in this current world with all the uncertainties, I get it, however, especially now, Valentine’s Day shows a sign of love and unity between each other and the world.
Finally, before you can offer true love to another, remember to love and respect yourself; treat yourself with happiness and give of yourself that love which can make a difference in other’s lives.
Good Luck !!
