Having a Pet Has It's Advantages.

Most people have at one time or another owned a pet. Pets not only make for wonderful companionship but some also provide healthy benefits. Having a pet, especially at a young age, makes you aware of the responsibilities you may encounter in life. Pets not only provide companionship but help in a de-stressing management of internal problems. Pets can help increase one’s outlook in life and bring about a positive feeling in your life. Let’s take a look at two of the most common pets, a cat and dog; it is interesting that in a research study, about 25% of men and about 33% of women say they were attracted to someone because of their pets.

First, having a cat as a pet. Most people that have a cat are the type of people that tend to be more of a homebody. They enjoy the quiet surroundings and prefer to socialize with their cat than society. Cat owners tend to trust others and put their feelings out for their partner to see. If you and your partner decide to adopt a cat it's important to understand that cat’s are quiet and have more fun with themselves; they love naps and cuddling up to you. Cat owners tend to be more laid back, enjoy peacefulness and center their life around their family.

Having a dog implies that first, you have energy and also an outdoor type of person. You enjoy walks and can be adventurous. Dogs like cats offer all of their love; they, like cats, will even cuddle with you and help reduce the feelings of despair. Dogs help to make people more extroverted, meaning they can be a conversation starter and bring people closer together.

Finally, studies with the elderly, have shown that dogs can help with cognitive thinking and reduce inappropriate behavior such as anger and yelling.

There are many other pets that could be your choice, however, the key in choosing a pet is that it fits the lifestyle of you and your partner; please remember pets are like people, they deserve the love and respect that will make their lives happy and meaningful.
