This review is a little over 3 months since I received my ring:
Bought this ring to replace my original wedding ring which broke and was unrepairable. Wanted something unique and was intrigued with getting a ring made out of tantalum due mostly to its weight and color. The ordering process was easy with the sizing kit - was stuck between getting a 10 and a 10.5 so appreciated being able to order an in-between size of 10.25. Received ring about 3 weeks after submission of final size and it fit perfectly.
Still love this ring and I am glad I purchased it and still give it a firm 5 stars - here is what I learned after wearing if for the past three months
The gunmetal gray color is fantastic and the ring has a nice weight to it which I like. It is very solid and I don't expect any distortions to its size or roundness over time. It has take some falls onto the floor without any damage.
One initial drawback that eventually turned to a positive - It scratches very easily (more so than I would have thought), leaving very bright (and noticeable) scratch marks through the top layer, which at first surprised and disappointed me a bit, BUT what I discovered is that the scratch marks oxidize over time back to the original dull gray color of the ring. After three months the ring has developed a nice patina and looks great - in the end I don't think the scratches are taking any metal out of the ring, just thin scratches in the top layer which reoxidizes eventually
Very happy with…
