The Journeyman is built on an 18k rose gold plated tungsten base. Tungsten ranks among the hardest metals in jewelry, resisting everyday dents and scratches with ease, while the warm rose gold plated exterior adds a rich, burnished tone that bridges the natural inlays. Three distinct natural materials run side by side through the band: turquoise brings a vivid blue-green pop of color, genuine deer antler adds organic texture in cream, brown, or black tones, and Hawaiian Koa wood contributes a warm, richly grained stripe. Because antler is a genuine natural material, color ranges across the three options: Light runs mostly white with little to no dark pigment; Medium/Mixed blends white with brown or black — sometimes in ombré, sometimes in distinct blocks; Dark skews predominantly brown to near-black. Antler used by Manly Bands is sourced as a byproduct and not from harvested animals.
It comes down to the contrast you want against the turquoise and koa wood inlays. Light is mostly white and creates a bright, clean look; Dark runs mostly brown/black for a richer, earthier feel; and Medium/Mixed gives you the best of both with ombre blending or color blocks — great if you love the unpredictable look of natural materials.
Most customers say it looks even better in hand — the plated rose gold base really warms up the turquoise, and the koa wood grain pops with depth you can't fully capture on screen. The antler inlay adds an organic, textured contrast that photographs can only hint at.
