Now, how do you figure out the size of your wedding ring? Moreover, what is the average ring size for men?

What Is the Average Ring Size for Men?

When we talk about wedding rings, it’s best to know that rings are often sized between a size 3 to a size 14. Sizes can go larger, but that tends to be the median among the entire population.

Men tend to wear anywhere between a size 7 to a size 14 — from the slender fingers of a pianist to the thick fingers of a construction worker. The average men’s ring size is a size 9.

But what exactly do these sizes mean?

Ring sizes are measured in half increments. So, you go from a size 8 to 8.5 to 9 to 9.5 and so on. But what do the actual sizes stand for? They’re simple readings of diameters. For instance, a size 7 has a diameter of 17.3 millimeters (mm); meanwhile, a size 7.5 measures 17.7 mm and then a size 8 measures at 18.1 mm.

So every half size increases by 0.4 mm in diameter. The sizes break down as follows:

Knowing this, you can actually find your ring size with little work. But how do you find your ring size at home?

Measuring Your Ring Size at Home

Measuring your ring size at home is actually pretty easy, especially once you know a) how to size your ring and b) what the average ring size is — i.e., what you should be looking for?

Measuring with a Ring Size Chart

First off, you should start off with a ring size its not a chart. An at-home ring size chart allows you to effectively measure your finger, simply by placing it through the measuring ring to figure out what your exact size is.

You should measure your finger multiple times with this method, as our fingers shrink and puff out due to the weather.

Just make sure that the size feels comfortable. You want it to fit on your finger snugly, without it feeling too snug. You don’t want your ring to slip on or off. If it’s too loose, it could fly off your finger simply by waving your hand. Instead, you want a ring that fits snug on your finger, without feeling like it can never be removed.

You need to be aware of your fingers, though. People with slender fingers and thick knuckles should consider going a half size up, as it will make it easier to get their ring over their knuckles without it being too difficult to either get on or off.

Measuring Your Ring in Other Ways

Ready to order your cerakote ring and get married? You don’t have to wait for your ring sizer to arrive, either. You can measure your finger right at home.

Knowing the corresponding ring size to measured diameter in millimeters, you can figure out your ring size with no problem. Just use a piece of floss, twine or thread to measure your finger.

And if you don’t feel confident measuring it yourself, you can always consider visiting a professional jeweler to have your ring size perfectly measured. They’ll even allow you to try on rings to see what you feel most comfortable with.
